Northwest University Women’s Basketball Win on the Road

OCEANSIDE, Calif. – Northwest University women's basketball hit the road for the first time this year. The Eagles (1-2, overall) outplayed University of Saint Katherine (0-5, overall) in all aspects of the game, winning 76-32.

The Eagles took advantage of Saint Katherine's turnovers and scored 22 points in the first quarter, 15 of which came off turnovers. Coach Crawford made sure the Eagles worked the ball down into the paint early in the game, with the Eagles scoring 38 points in the key. Sixteen of those points came in the first quarter. The biggest standout in the game was the support the Eagles had from their bench. The nonstarters outscored Saint Katherine 41-0. Miranda Langenhorst, a senior for the Eagles, led Northwest University with 10 points and 8 rebounds. Freshman Sam Van Loo also had a great performance, scoring 12 points and 6 rebounds. Northwest continues their stay in California one more night and will play Life Pacific College tomorrow at noon.

Northwest University women's head coach Ken Crawford said, "It was a good win tonight for the lady Eagles. Many of our athletes received playing time, and we were pleased with the improvement that we are making. We have a quick turnaround to play tomorrow at noon. I am excited about the possibilities."
