KIRKLAND, WA - Northwest University Athletics has earned a gold medal in the 2024-25 NAIA Champions of Character Five-Star Institution Award.
Out of the 210 institutions that have been nominated across the country, Northwest University stood out as one of the top schools by earning the gold medal. The Champions of Character scorecard measures a commitment to character training, academic focus, character promotion, conduct in competition, and character recognition on a scale of 0-100 points. Award levels are based on the number of points earned: gold (90-100 points), silver (75-89 points), and bronze (60-74 points).
Institutions are measured on a demonstrated commitment to Champions of Character and earn points in character training, conduct in competition, academic focus, character recognition, and character promotion. Institutions earned points based on exceptional student-athlete grade point averages and by having minimal to no ejections during competition throughout the course of the academic year.
"At Northwest University, we place a strong emphasis on character development as a fundamental part of our athletic program," said Athletic Director Gary McIntosh. "This award is a testament to the consistent commitment of our coaches, staff, and—most importantly—our student-athletes, who strive every day to uphold and embody those values."
Northwest University and NU Athletics are proud of our student-athletes and would like to congratulate them for all their accomplishments last season.
