Orange Beach, Ala. – Northwest University used a late goal from Bailey Travis to beat Cardinal Stritch University in the second round of the quarterfinals of the national tournament.
 
The game was scoreless for the first 80 minutes, with the Eagles' goalkeeper Kat Sanchez stopping seven shots in the game. Resilient defense from the Eagles prevented any other goals from the Wolves.
 
The Eagles' Katie Michkiosky put three shots on target to lead the offensive attack, but the real excitement came in the 81^st minute when Bailey Travis put in a header off a pass from Stephanie Wilson to give the Eagles a 1-0 lead. The Eagles held on for the last few minutes of the game, keeping the Wolves scoreless and winning the game.
 
This pushes the Eagles into the Elite Eight of the national tournament, where they will play No. 4 Keiser University on Wednesday morning. Northwest played Keiser early in the year, losing 1-4, but the Eagles hope to avenge their loss and press forward in the tournament.
 
Northwest head coach Bryan Chud commented, "We came up against a tough and talented team today, as we knew we would, but once again we played a great game defensively. Bailey came on and scored a fantastic header late in the game to send us into the Elite Eight. I am incredibly proud of this group and am excited for the quarterfinals!"
