Eagles Fall in the Last Two Minutes of Regulation

MIAMI GARDENS, FL – Northwest University Women's soccer (0-3, overall) battled until the very end of the game to lose 1-0. Eva Castano Candela secured the victory for Saint Thomas University Bobcats (1-0) by scoring the only goal of the day with 1 minute and 59 seconds left to play. Candela was assisted by Sandy Benito for the Bobcats' first goal and first win of the season.

The Eagles had 15 shots on the day but were unable to place one in the net. Northwest University's defense was able to hold the Bobcats to 11 shots, with 5 shots on goal. Head Coach Bryan Chud reported, "We played extremely well. We just couldn't finish the game."

This is the second game for the Eagles to drop a last-minute, game-deciding goal. Northwest University continues their stay in Florida to play against a difficult No. 12 ranked Keiser University tomorrow at 9:00am PST.
