Salem, Ore. – Northwest University (2-6, 1-1 CCC) lost a close one against Corban University (5-2, 2-0 CCC) in extra time. After a late equalizer by the Eagles to force extra time, Corban was able to respond with a 98
th minute golden goal to win the match.
Northwest's
Sharaya Roberts scored her second goal of the season off a penalty kick in the 86
th minute. After an early deflected goal from Corban, the Eagles spent the bulk of the game trying to claw their way back. The offensive effort was there, as the Eagles made 23 shots in the game, but only one managed to find its way into the goal.
Corban's Emma Kosmala hit the winning goal for the Warriors off a long cross from Lexi McQueary.
Northwest head coach
Bryan Chud said, "We played well again, things just didn't fall for us tonight. It's a very disappointing result, but I am proud of the way we played, and we'll learn from it and move on."
