La Grande, Ore. – Northwest University (10-11, 2-7 CCC) couldn't quite finish their comeback effort against Eastern Oregon University (10-8, 5-2 CCC), losing their fourth straight conference game with a score of 84-79.
The Mountaineers shot 59% from the field and 42% from deep in the first half. They also went on an 11-2 run in the last four minutes to build a 46-35 lead at half. The Eagles slowly chipped away in the second half, and a three-pointer from Nick Navarro with 12 seconds left in the game brought them within two. After the Mountaineers made two free throws in the next possession, the game slipped out of the Eagles' hands for good.
Nick Navarro had 23 points in the game, including three three-pointers. Hussayn Ford nabbed another double-double, with 19 points and 11 rebounds.
Eastern Oregon's Jordan May had 36 points and eight rebounds on the night, shooting 14-26 from the field.
