SALEM, Oregon – Northwest shocked seventh-ranked Corban in four sets in front of a full house Homecoming crowd Saturday, 25-18, 25-23, 19-25, 25-23.

"We knew going into the match that it would take a great effort to compete with a talented Corban squad," said NU Head Coach Steven Bain. "And to honest, after last night's disappointment I wasn't sure how we would respond. Credit our ladies though for bouncing back and displaying the resolve to make the plays when the match was on the line."

Hannah Lord had 10 kills and Abi Broussard added nine to lead the Eagles, who hit .202 for the night as a team.
Anna Saelens led with 21 assists with
Courteney Carr getting 14.

Broussard,
Kylie Szczepanski and
Sarah Howlett were a part of six blocks each and
Keann White added five as the Eagles collected 12 on the night. The back row was led by
Tatiana Ensz with 12 digs and
Cristina Hegarty with 11.

Broussard had three of the team's four aces.

In the first set, the Eagles used a pair of blocks by Szczepanski and White in a 4-0 run for an early 6-3 lead. NU withstood a few mini rallies by the Warriors and Broussard punctuated the first set with an ace.

Down 22-20 in the second set, Broussard had a kill to ignite a 5-1 run for the win.

Corban salvaged a win in the third set.

The Eagles scored four consecutive points for a 24-18 lead in the fourth set but CU closed to within 24-23 before Northwest won on an attack error.

Now 11-10 on the season and 9-6 in the Cascade Collegiate Conference, the Eagles start their final regular-season homestand of the season next weekend. Northwest hosts Eastern Oregon and College of Idaho Oct. 25-26 and Evergreen State on Nov. 2.
