Chud, Sanchez Earn Records in 2-0 Win vs. Corban

KIRKLAND – Northwest got a pair of goals from Rylee Rassier and put Head Coach Bryan Chud and goalkeeper Kat Sanchez in the school record book with the 2-0 win.

For Chud, it is win No. 47, breaking the school's women's soccer coaching wins mark he had shared with Erin Redwine.

"I am so proud of the girls today," Chud said. "Corban is a good team, and we rose to the challenge today and played a very solid and complete game. The second half, in particular, was a fantastic performance. We continue to improve and this group continues to impress me! It is an honor and privilege to coach for this program and these girls continue to make it worth it all!"

Sanchez, who recorded her third shutout of the season, now has 20 in her career, surpassing Patty Hughes, who had 19 from 2011-14.

"Kat has been such a rock for this team the last few years and fully deserves reaching this milestone," Chud said. "I'm excited that she has several games to add to the record now!"

Rassier took the ball away from the defense and scored 98 seconds into the game for a 1-0 lead.

Rassier got the brace in the second half, using a double assist from Olivia Morris and Callie Wright in the 59th minute.

Northwest had 15 shots in the game with Wright and Rassier launching six apiece. That tandem also had three shots on goal each to account for six of the eight NU on-frame attempts.

Sanchez collected a pair of saves in getting the shutout win.

The Eagles, with their eighth consecutive win, improve to 4-0 in the Cascade Collegiate Conference and 8-2 overall. Northwest entertains Northwest Christian at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.
