Eagles Close Season with 3-0 Loss

SPRINGFIELD, Ore. – Southern Oregon put an end to the season for Northwest men's soccer, as the Eagles fell 3-0 Tuesday in the Cascade Collegiate Conference quarterfinals at Les Schwab Sports Park.

"This was not the way we wanted to end our season but we ran up against a very good Southern Oregon team," said NU Head Coach Gary McIntosh. "Southern played a great game and they did not allow us to get into our game.  We have a very young team and making it to the playoffs when you were picked to finish 11th at the beginning of the year was an accomplishment. I am proud of these guys for the effort and hard work they put in all season."

Northwest was limited to four shots--two by Elliot Misic and one each by Dylan Murphy and Kyler McIntosh. Each of those players had one shot on goal each.

Alexander Thiehofe logged 10 saves.

Sam Walker scored first off a rebound in the 12th minute, and Zak Wooley made it 2-0 in the 25th minute. The Raiders took a 2-0 lead to halftime.

Wooley scored again in the 60th minute for the final margin.

The game was the last for Northwest seniors Jordan Travis and Joey Starr.

Northwest ends the season with a 9-9-1 record.
