Overtime Loss Ends Season for Eagles

SPRINGFIELD, Ore. – Women's soccer season for Northwest came to a heart-breaking end with a 1-0 overtime loss at the hands of Southern Oregon in the Cascade Collegiate Conference Tournament quarterfinals Tuesday.

For the second time in a row, the Raiders scored a 1-0 win against the Eagles.

"It's been an unforgettable season and I am so proud to coach this group of women who have given so much of their time and energy to this game we all love," said NU Head Coach Bryan Chud. "We came up short today, and it is much less than this group deserves. Southern played well, though, and I wish them all the best in the tournament."

Misty Martinez got the winner for SOU 3:34 into the overtime period, using an assist from Sarah Mauk.

The Eagles got 10 shots off, including three on goal. Rylee Rassier had five shots and Olivia Morris three. Callie Wright, Madison Morrow and Rassier all tested the keeper once.

Kat Sanchez had four saves.

The contest draws the curtain on the college career of seniors Sanchez, Nadine Huff, Hannah Nicholson, Stephanie Wilson, Victoria Rice, Rassier, Lina Takada, Mackenzie Monten and AdriaAnna Simmons.
