KIRKLAND – Northwest opened the season with an 89-49 win over Salish Kootenai in the Northwest Classic, getting double-figure scoring from four players.

Livi Lindsey scored 22 points, Ellesse FitzGerald added 20, Sam Van Loo scored 13, and Lexi Biggerstaff contributed 11.

"That was a great start to the season for the Lady Eagles," said NU Head Coach
Ken Crawford. "We played fast, aggressive, and, for the most part, pretty smart. We are looking forward to getting back on the court again and continuing to learn!"

The Eagles never trailed and used a 7-0 run to begin to pull away, with Biggerstaff scoring five in that spree. NU led 14-6 after the first quarter.

That NU lead expanded to 39-22 at halftime.

The Eagles scored 50 points in the second half. They led by as many as 30 in the third quarter and got their biggest lead of the night on a three-pointer by Lindsey with 4:04 to play in the fourth, 85-43.

Northwest scored 58 points off the 46 SKC turnovers. The Eagles had 28 steals, including nine by Lindsey.

Andie Kristinat had six assists to lead the 22-assist NU effort. She also led the team with eight rebounds, while Deja Andrades and Van Loo chipped in seven apiece.

The Eagles scored 42 points off the bench, with Lindsey leading that effort with her 22.

Northwest faces a tougher test Saturday at 3 p.m. when they host 4-1 Montana Tech.Â
