Warner Pacific Pack on the Points Early to Jump on Eagles

PORTLAND, Ore. - Warner Pacific University (15-13 overall, 6-11 CCC) started the game with a 16-4 run and never looked back. Although the Eagles made a push in the second half to pull the game within 8 points, the Knights never gave up the lead.

Hussayn Ford of Northwest University (13-16 overall, 5-12 CCC) threw down 34 points and 6 rebounds, but his single performance was not enough to compete with the Knights. Josh Meyer led the Eagles with 11 rebounds and forced the game to shooting from beyond the arc. Northwest University struggled from the three-point line, shooting only 5-22, a mere 22%. Warner Pacific took advantage of the Eagles' poor shooting from deep and made 11-30 three-pointers (36%).

Warner Pacific University relied on two players to take the victory. The Knights' Collin Malcolm had 34 points and 10 rebounds on the night. Jalen Ballard also added 21 points. The game was really a two-man show that the Eagles could not shut down. This victory for Warner Pacific was crucial in securing them a place in the Cascade Collegiate Conference playoffs.

Northwest University's head coach Jeff Drinkwine commented, "We started out way too slow and didn't come ready to play for the importance and magnitude of the game that was taking place.  Tomorrow's another opportunity to extend our season.  Our guys will be ready and prepared."
