KIRKLAND – Northwest knocked Rocky Mountain from the ranks of the unbeaten Friday with a 2-0 win.

It was Northwest's first win in the series.

After a scoreless first half, the Eagles got on the board in the 52
nd minute when
Jordan Travis got a feed from
Kyle Han and kept his footing just long enough to slide a shot past the keeper.

Leon Bormann scored in the 80
th minute, getting an assist from Travis for the final margin.
Â
Alexander Thiehofe was the star in goal for the Eagles, turning away 11 shots–-many of which required the freshman keeper to leave his feet.

"We knew today was going to be tough, as Rocky is a good team," said NU Coach
Gary McIntosh. "Our guys battled and fought together for this win. We had some players step up and make plays when we needed them. Alexander in goal was the man of the match. He came up with big saves to keep us in the game. We will now focus on the next game."

The Eagles put up 10 shots, including five shots on goal.
Gian Herrera had three shots, while Travis and Bormann each had a pair of shots on goal.

Rocky Mountain had 24 shots in the game, including seven each by Marco Kummerle and Nolan Sherwood. Sherwood had four shots on goal.

The victory gets NU to 1-2 in Cascade Collegiate Conference action and 4-4 overall, while dropping RMC to 2-1 in the league and 3-3 overall.
