KIRKLAND – A frigid fourth quarter saw Northwest drop a 69-54 decision to Vancouver Island Saturday in the NU Holiday Classic.
 
The Eagles had a 49-46 lead entering the fourth quarter but went 1-of-15 from the field and had four turnovers in the final frame. The Eagles missed all eight three-point attempts in the quarter.
 
Maya DuChesne led the Eagles with 14 points, and Andie Kristinat added 11. Lexi Biggerstaff had nine points, and Sam Van Loo had eight points and five rebounds. 
 
Northwest led by as many as 11 points in the first half and had a 10-point lead early in the third quarter. The Mariners outscored NU 23-5 in the final quarter.
 
NU drops to 3-11 on the season and returns to action Tuesday in Olympia, taking on Evergreen State at 5:30 p.m.
