KIRKLAND – Northwest and Evergreen State begin the Cascade Collegiate Conference women's basketball schedule in Kristi Brodin Pavilion at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Northwest has a vaccine protocol in place for fans. Proof of a full vaccination battery (completed on or before Nov. 9) or a negative PCR COVID-19 test within 72 hours of the scheduled game time (after 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov 20) is required. Self-administered tests are not acceptable.

Evergreen didn't play last season because of the pandemic. The teams split the series in the 2019-20 season, with both teams winning at home. The Eagles are 24-14 in the rivalry.

Northwest won 78-70 in 2020, the last meeting between the teams, in the Pav. Livi Lindsey led the effort with 16 points, and Grace Meza added 15. Maya DuChesne added 13 points, six rebounds, and four assists, and Sam VanLoo scored 12 points to go with six boards. Trinity Betoney had 21 points for ESC.

Including last year's win over Multnomah, the Eagles have won their last two initial contests against Cascade Collegiate Conference teams. Andie Kristinat, now in her fifth season at NU, is 3-1 in CCC openers.

Northwest is off to its best five-game start since 2014. A win over Evergreen State would mark the first 5-1 start to a season for the Eagles.

NU is coming off a 71-49 win over Pacific Union. Lindsey led the Eagles with 13 points and shared the steals lead with Meza at four and the assists lead with Meza and Ellesse FitzGerald with three. Sam VanLoo scored 12 points on six-of-seven shooting, and Maria Arroyo Sanchez added 10 points.

NU has a pair of guards leading the team in scoring. Lindsey averages 11.6 points, and Meza averages 11.4 points per game.

VanLoo has a pair of double-doubles this season and leads the team with 7.2 rebounds per game.

Evergreen State is 0-2 on the season. Caitlin Yenne leads the Geoducks in scoring at 12 points per game, with Monique Bungay at 11. Rachel Watson averages six rebounds and two blocked shots per game.
