PORTLAND – Northwest picked up its 10th win of the season in the fewest chances of any other NU team with its 64-45 win at Multnomah on Saturday.
Northwest's first 10-2 team got 13 points apiece from
Sam VanLoo and
Livi Lindsey, and the defense held the Lions to 33 percent shooting and forced 21 turnovers.
Northwest dominated in rebounding, 43-31, and had a 13-2 advantage in second-chance points.
Multnomah had a brief 3-0 lead, and the Eagles took over for good when VanLoo initiated a 10-2 run that left NU up 20-12 with 1:19 left in the first quarter.
The Eagles led 34-22 at the half.
Northwest used an 11-0 run to construct a 45-26 lead in the third quarter, fueled by VanLoo and Lindsey with four points each and a three-point play by
Maya DuChesne.
DuChesne added a layup in the fourth quarter for the Eagles' largest lead, 51-30, with 7:25 left.

VanLoo and Meza had seven rebounds each. Meza and Lindsey had three steals apiece.
Now 10-2 overall and 4-1 in the Cascade Collegiate Conference, the Eagles return to action on Dec. 29 at Puget Sound in Tacoma.
