SALEM, Ore. – Northwest came up empty on its last day on the road, losing twice to Corban, 18-4 and 15-2.
"It was a rough day," said NU Head Coach
Pam Fink. "We'll get back home and try to give the seniors a good experience next weekend."
Northwest took a brief 1-0 lead in the second inning.
Sammi Caron doubled and scored on a base hit by
Sydney Maurer.
The Warriors unloaded for 13 runs in the bottom of the second.
Kayla Stanley and
Alyssa Maldonado scored on a grounder by
Nicola Fish in the third inning. Maldonado added a sacrifice fly in the fifth.
The Eagles had four hits–one each by Stanley, Fish, Caron, and Maurer.
Abby Brake took the loss.
NU's two runs in the second game came in the second inning with RBI singles by Maurer and Gomes.
The Eagles had seven hits. Maurer had two, and Dippel, Stanley, Caron, and Gomes had one apiece.
Dippel took the pitching loss.
Northwest finishes the season with a four-game series against Bushnell at Bellevue High School May 1-2.
