Oregon Tech Defeats Eagles 2-0

KIRKLAND – Oregon Tech celebrated a Cascade Collegiate Conference championship with its 2-0 win at Northwest University Tuesday.

OIT entered the day in a tie with Corban, but Southern Oregon dealt the Warriors a loss earlier in the day, 2-1.

Amy Morikawa got the game-winner for the Owls in the 13th minute, playing in a corner kick assist from Mehana Ortiz.

Ortiz added a goal for herself, scoring from 25 yards out in the 58th minute.

Northwest had three shots and one shot on goal for the game. Colette Liston had the lone shot on goal while Callie Wright and Maya Lewis also had shots.

Kierstin Patefield had nine saves for the Eagles.

"It was unfortunate to end the season the way we did, but we are thankful to have even had a season under the circumstances," said NU Head Coach Bryan Chud. "We will move on from this hybrid season, improve on the things we need to, and we'll be back in the autumn ready to compete!"

The game was the CCC finale for NU seniors Patefield and Madison Morrow.
