KIRKLAND – Northwest lost a 3-0 match at home Saturday to Bushnell falling to 5-9 overall and 4-5 in the Cascade Collegiate Conference.
Â
Bushnell won 25-20, 25-19, 25-21.
Â
Susana Bailey and
Megan Horne led NU with seven kills and
Anna Saelens had 30 assists.
Â
"Once again, the match comes down to serve and pass and, on this night, Bushnell's servers and passers were better than ours," said NU Head Coach Steven Bain. "As a result, we struggled to contain their offense and in turn we made too many errors in tough swing situations. On the plus side, we battled and are starting to learn that points at the beginning of a set are just as important as the ones in the middle and those at the end. As well, we have been playing shorthanded for several weeks, which has taken its toll on our preparation. So, we are looking forward to getting healthy, which will certainly improve our ability to grow and improve as we prepare for another challenging week in the CCC."
Â
Cristina Lorenz had 23 digs and
Abigail Broussard was in on six blocks.
Â
NU returns to action with a Friday match at the College of Idaho.
