KIRKLAND –Northwest launches a four-game homestand with two games this weekend, taking on Eastern Oregon at 5:30 p.m. on Friday and the College of Idaho at 3 p.m. on Saturday.

Attendance at this weekend's games will be limited to Northwest students and staff in an effort to avoid further exposure to the COVID-19 Omicron variant.Â

This weekend's games mark the end of the first half of the Cascade Collegiate Conference schedule. Northwest comes into the weekend tied with the College of Idaho, Oregon Tech, and Warner Pacific for fifth at 5-4. Eastern Oregon is tied for second at 7-2.

Northwest fell to 11-5 overall and 5-4 in Cascade Collegiate Conference games after a 68-47 loss at Bushnell on Sunday.
Livi Lindsey had 16 points to lead NU in that game.

Northwest features three players averaging in double-figure points this season, led by Lindsey at 12.1. Lindsey had a career-high 24 points Saturday in a win over Corban.
Sam VanLoo averages 10.5 points on 54.1 percent shooting, which is the fourth-best field goal percentage in the CCC.
Grace Meza averages 10.3 points and leads the team with 18 three-pointers.

Eastern Oregon has dominated the series with Northwest, 38-5, and has won the last 14 meetings, dating back to the 2013-14 season. The last time the teams played in Kirkland, the Mountaineers came away with an 85-80 win. Meza had 19 points in that game for NU.

Eastern Oregon is 10-7 overall and 7-2 in the Cascade Collegiate Conference after a pair of Covid forfeit wins last weekend. EOU lost its last on-court game, 75-65, on Jan. 1. EOU is 3-1 since Christmas but has only played once. Sailor Liefke averages 14.9 points and leads EOU with 38 assists and 17 steals. Taylor Stricklin gets 12.9 points and a team-leading 8.6 rebounds per game.Â

The College of Idaho is 24-14 in the series with Northwest. The Eagles grabbed a 65-53 win the last time the Yotes came to Kirkland in the 2019-2020 season. VanLoo had 15 points and 10 rebounds for the Eagles.

With three consecutive Covid forfeit wins, the College of Idaho hasn't played since Dec. 31. The Yotes are 11-6 overall and 5-4 in the CCC. Sienna Riggle leads the team with 13.2 points per game and 20 blocked shots. Lexi Mitchell averages 11.6 points. Mitchell and Riggle form a terrific rebounding duo. Mitchell averages 9.4 rebounds and Riggle 9.3.
