KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – Northwest found the late-game solution Saturday, grabbing a 58-54 road win at Oregon Tech Saturday afternoon.

Trailing 53-52 with less than two minutes left in the game,
Sam VanLoo took a pass from
Livi Lindsey and knocked down a jumper with 1:16 to go for a 54-53 lead.Â

The NU defense got a stop, and
Maya DuChesne came away with a rebound.
Grace Meza was fouled with 33 seconds to go and made both free throws for a 56-53 lead. OIT got a free throw, but Northwest harried the Owls into three turnovers in the final 33 seconds. Meza added two more free throws with 11 seconds to secure the victory.

Oregon Tech led 18-13 after the first quarter, but the Eagles won each of the final three quarters to improve to 13-9 overall and 7-8 in the Cascade Collegiate Conference.

"That was a great college basketball game tonight," said NU Head Coach
Ken Crawford. "So proud of the team as they stayed focused and made the big plays in a tough environment against a good team. We know that we have the ability to keep it going."

Meza led the Eagles with 17 points to go with three steals with Lindsey adding 11 points. DuChesne had a team-leading seven rebounds, and
Caitlin Monten dished out three assists.Â

Kim Weden shared the steals lead with Meza, picking up three. NU had 12 steals on the night, forcing 21 turnovers.

Northwest takes a short break before heading to Olympia for a 5:30 p.m. contest at Evergreen State on Tuesday.
