KIRKLAND – Northwest gave its fans a glimpse of the women's basketball season on Saturday with a 82-63 win over Douglas College.

Newcomers
Grace Harder and
Kinslee Gallatin led the Eagles with 13 and 10 points, respectively, and Harder had a team-high five rebounds.
Maya DuChesne and
Kyrin Baklund contributed nine points each.

Eleven different Eagles accounted for 18 assists.

Katie Fleming had three steals.

Karalee Antoine led the Royals with 23 points.

Northwest never trailed and used an 11-0 run to build a 20-8 advantage with 2:289 left in the first quarter. Gallatin had four points in that spree. A pair of
Emily Strojan free throws with 54 seconds left in the second quarter put the Eagles up 50-24 at the half.

Douglas got as close as 14 points in the third quarter but Northwest usurped that momentum and reestablished a 26-point lead in the fourth quarter.

The Eagles return to action on Nov. 5 with an exhibition at Whitman in Walla Walla.
