Eagles Snuff Beacons, 5-2

KIRKLAND – Northwest gave up an early goal and then scored five straight for a 5-2 win over Bushnell on Friday.

Miguel Nascimento played home a header from Caleb Premo to put Bushnell ahead 1-0 in the seventh minute.

Four minutes later, Tyler Hopp scored the first of his two goals, booting in a pass from Noah Prophet.

Elliot Misic went one-on-one for the game-winning goal in the 31st minute, and that 2-1 lead held up through halftime.

Brayden Corwin scored with an assist from Jackson Welch and Kyler McIntosh in the 60th minute for a 3-1 cushion.

Tyler Hopp beat the defense down the field after a good defensive stop and feed forward by Kyler McIntosh and scored in the 65th minute.

Welch got the final NU goal in the 69th minute, getting an assist from Angel Ventura.

Caleb Burke scored with 26 seconds left in the game for Bushnell, with the assist going to Juan Palacios.

"I am pleased with how we came out and played today," said NU Head Coach Gary McIntosh. "The focus was good, and we accomplished what we set out to do. We got great minutes from the entire team but especially the bench. Jackson came in and played huge minutes for us. It was great to see us sharing the ball on the score sheet with four different goal scorers. We will enjoy this game tonight and then switch the page to the Corban game tomorrow."

NU outshot its guests 21-10 and put 11 shots on goal. Hopp had six shots and four shots on goal. Misic had two shots on goal, and Prophet, Jacob Moon, Corwin, Welch, and Max Kozorezov had one each.

Alexander Thiehofe had three saves for the Eagles.

Now 5-5-2 overall and 3-3-1 in the Cascade Collegiate Conference, the Eagles have their last home game Saturday at 3 p.m. against Corban. NU will honor its graduating seniors before the game.
