Corban Stops Eagles

KIRKLAND – A cold second half was Northwest's undoing as Corban claimed a 63-52 win over the Eagles on Friday.

NU shot 25 percent and misfired on all seven third-quarter three-pointers as the Warriors stretched their 30-26 halftime lead to 49-34 heading into the final period.

The Eagles scrapped back from the free throw line, going 13 of 14 in the fourth quarter.

"Definitely a disappointing game for us," said NU Head Coach Ken Crawford. "It felt like we had been making some progress, and tonight was a step back. We'll see how we respond as we get ready to play Bushnell tomorrow afternoon."

Maya DuChesne led the Eagles with 13 points, with Kyrin Baklund chipping in 10. Both had three assists. Katie Fleming added nine points, and Kylie Lunday came off the bench for seven rebounds. Grace Harder had three steals.

Maddie Godwin scored 23, and Tori Younker added 13 for the Warriors.

The Eagles host Bushnell at 3 p.m. on Saturday.
