Eagles Finish Men's Basketball Season

KIRKLAND – Northwest finished its men's basketball season with a 79-64 loss at the hands of Corban on Saturday.
 
The NU seniors were recognized before their final college game. Tanner Davis, Rayvaughn Bolton, Jason Brown Jr., Jase Paulsen, and Tre Newman were presented with parting gifts from their friends and teammates.
 
NU led as late as the 11:42 mark of the first half before Corban began building separation. The Warriors led by as many as 14 points in the first half and led 40-31 at the half.
 
Northwest got as close as six points twice in the second half, but Corban put the game away with a 17-1 run that culminated in a 72-50 lead with 4:49 remaining in the NU season.
 
"It's always tough to lose on senior night, and it's a disappointing way for our guys to go out," said NU Coach Zach Smith. "We're proud of the way this group battled for us all season."
 
CaCoa Chatman led the Eagles with 25 points, with Brown adding 11 points and four assists. Davis had nine rebounds, and Bolton added eight. Newman finished with nine points, and Paulsen added five.
 
Mateo Escheik paced the Warriors with 18 points, with Darius Henderson adding 17 points and nine rebounds. Talin Lewis scored 14 points, and Taylor Anderson tacked on 10 points and eight assists.
 
Northwest ends the season at 10-17 overall and 7-15 in the Cascade Collegiate Conference.
