FOREST GROVE, Ore. – Northwest claimed its second consecutive win of her season on Sunday, shutting down Pacific, 2-0.
Â
After a scoreless first half, the Eagles got the game-winning goal from
Tyler Hopp in the 61st minute.
Â
Frederik Marten got the second NU goal in the 65th minute, using an assist from
Jacen Stein.
"We came out alright in the first 15 minutes of the first half, and then we dropped off," said NU Head Coach Gary McIntosh. "We played everybody, so this was a good team victory. The goals by
Tyler Hopp and Freddy were beautiful. In the second half, we did a lot of the things that we worked on at practice, so it was good to see them come together. Now we will look towards our games in Atlanta."
David Fulga picked up the shutout win in goal, grabbing a pair of saves.
Â
The Eagles launched seven shots, including two each by Hopp, Marten, and
Elliot Misic. Misic, Hopp, Marten, and
Gian Herrera had shots on goal for NU.
Â
Now 2-1 on the season, Northwest heads to the South next week with a Friday contest at Bryan College (Tennessee) and a Sunday match at Dalton State (Georgia).
