Dear Northwest University Community,
 
After careful consideration and deliberation, university leadership made the difficult decision to discontinue the women's softball program. Scholarship commitments to softball student-athletes will be honored for those who opt to continue their undergraduate studies at the university.
 
We acknowledge the magnitude of this decision and the impact felt by student athletes, coaches, and alumni of the softball program. The university is committed to providing support and guidance to softball student-athletes whether they choose to stay at Northwest or transfer to another institution. The athletic department will remain in close contact with our student-athletes throughout the summer.
 
While we lament the necessity and impact of this decision, we do believe it is the right decision for the short and long-term future of Eagle Athletics and Northwest University.
