LA GRANDE, OR -Â Northwest men's soccer ties Eastern Oregon 1-1 on the road in conference play for their first point of the season.
The Eagles went down a goal in the 27th minute when midfielder Edgar Romero Perez converted a penalty kick.
The first half was tough to get a good rhythm of play.In the second half, Northwest came out pressuring Eastern and created several good scoring opportunities, when finally in the 87th minute, Matt Ludlow headed home a cross from
Damian Santos. Northwest's back line was solid all night with
Michael Kot coming up with several keys saves—five in total. Â
Coach McIntosh commented, "I love the grit we played with tonight. The guys came out strong from the beginning and never looked back. After giving up the first goal, we pushed the entire game to find a goal, never giving up. Any day you can get points on the road, you take them. I'm proud of the fight we had today."
