NU Grinds Out Victory Against Geoducks

KIRKLAND, Wash. - The Northwest University men's soccer team secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory against Evergreen State on Friday. The win gives the Eagles their first conference win of the season.

The match remained scoreless throughout the first half, but Northwest broke the deadlock late in the second half to secure the win. The only goal of the game came in the 71st minute, courtesy of Titus Bishop. The goal was assisted by Matthew Ludlow, giving Northwest the crucial 1-0 lead that they held until the final whistle.

The game was a physical battle between the two teams with 10 yellow cards between the two teams. Goalkeeper Bailey Hopkins was solid in the net, playing the full 90 minutes and recording a shutout with 4 saves.

Evergreen managed 9 total shots in the match, with 4 on target. Evergreen's goalkeeper, Tom Cole, faced 6 shots on goal, making 5 saves.

Northwest will take on Eastern Oregon and The College of Idaho next weekend in the final weekend of conference.
