CHENEY, Wash. - The Northwest women's basketball team opened their 2025-26 season with an exhibition against Eastern Washington University.
Northwest opened the game with a strong start, briefly holding a 7-6 lead midway through the first quarter. However, Eastern Washington's offense proved too much, going on a dominant run in the first half to establish a large lead.
The Eagles were led offensively by senior,
Jersey McGehee, with 11 points on the night. Freshman
Griffyn Eyman also contributed on the offensive end, sinking two three-pointers on her way to 9 points off the bench.
Northwest will have their second and final exhibition for the season this Wednesday at Seattle U at 6:00 PM.
