ANCHORAGE, Alaska (Nov. 8) — The Northwest University women's basketball team continued its early-season road test against NCAA Division II opponent University of Alaska Anchorage, showing resilience and energy despite falling 100–57 in Saturday's matchup.

Facing one of the top programs in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference, the Eagles held their own through stretches of play and saw strong contributions across the roster. Taimane Faleafine-Auwae led Northwest with 11 points and 7 rebounds off the bench, while Kaleah Medeiros added 10 points, 3 assists, and 3 rebounds.

The Eagles battled to create offensive opportunities against an experienced UAA defense and continued to compete until the final buzzer. Defensively, Northwest showed improvement and effort against a hot-shooting Seawolves team led by senior guard Elaina Mack, who scored 41 points to set a new program record.

Head Coach Randy Eden's young squad gained valuable experience from back-to-back contests against the NCAA Division II Seawolves as they prepare to return home and continue building early-season momentum.

"Another one that got away from us in the second quarter," said Coach Eden. "Elaina Mack had 25 in the first half alone and 10 threes on the night. UAA has three Division I-type talents, and we saw the best from those three over the past two nights. It was a big week of growth for our young roster and a reminder of the importance of details when competing against teams that might be a little better than you. We're looking forward to what's next."

Northwest will be back in action next Saturday, traveling to face Linfield University.
