Eagles Sweep on Senior Night

KIRKLAND, Wash. - As Northwest took the evening to honor seven seniors, they completed their regular season contests with a sweep of Warner Pacific, 25-8, 25-20, 25-12.

The Eagles started off the day by celebrating Kalli Budge, Aubree Dees, Morgan HarterMasa Spela Jarc, Kaitlyn Mickle, Delaney Sparks, and Ellie Van Berkum for their huge contributions and dedication to the program.

Northwest rode the high of senior night and started out strong as they got out to an early lead in the first set and never looked back. The Warriors continued to fight and kept the second set close at all times, but the Eagles were able to pull away just enough to take a two set lead. The third set mirrored the first as the Eagles dialed in and finished the night with the victory.

Kalli Budge led the Eagles on her senior night with 10 kills. Seniors Kaityln Mickle and Delaney Sparks were right behind her with eight kills and six kills. Morgan Harter tallied 26 assists and Ellie Van Berkum led the back court with 17 digs.

"First, you have to credit Warner Pacific for battling all year," said NU Head Coach Steve Bain. "They played with positive energy, and I know that better days are ahead for their program. Our ladies also played with great energy and our seniors set the tone by remaining mindful of the things that we needed to do to be successful. In that regard, our first contacts were on point for most of the match and when you can do that with consistency, the match usually turns in your favor. We feel good about moving forward into the conference tournament and look forward to playing an excellent LCSC team on Tuesday night."

The Eagles will start their playoff campaign on Tuesday at LC-State.
