Klamath Falls, Ore. — The Northwest University men's basketball team dropped a 98–65 decision to the Oregon Tech Owls, who delivered an outstanding shooting performance from start to finish.
Oregon Tech caught fire in the first half, connecting on 65% of its field goal attempts while knocking down 13 three-pointers on the night. The Owls finished the game shooting 59% from the field and an impressive 65% from beyond the arc. When a team shoots at that level, it's difficult to slow their momentum.
Northwest struggled to find offensive consistency, shooting 33% from the field and 14% from three-point range.
Christian Watkins led the Eagles with 18 points. CJ Bayaks recorded a strong all-around performance with 13 points and nine rebounds, while Logan Stempniak added nine points and four rebounds.
Coach Skeen had this to say about his team's performance: "We got beat in every way possible. We got out-worked, out-rebounded, out-shot, out-executed, and out-coached. We have a lot of work to do to compete at the top of our conference. I am confident our guys will do that work."
The Eagles will look to bounce back on Monday, December 15, when they travel to Ellensburg to take on non-conference opponent Central Washington University.
