PORTLAND, ORE. - The Northwest University men's soccer team leveled with Lewis & Clark College, 2-2, with fouls aplenty.

The Eagles' previous game was won in Arizona against Ottawa University of Arizona

The Eagles and Pioneers combined for a total of 10 yellow cards, with seven against the Eagles and three on the Pioneers. The two squads also combined for three goals in the first half, with Sam London of the Pioneers getting the game's first in the 18th minute. Five minutes later, Ngazikue "Gazi" Kandetu drove one in with the help of Titus Bishop. The Pioneers regained the lead in the 43rd minute, thanks to Dylan Weinstein.

Tristin Evans got the equalizer early into the second half, with Nick Rivera contributing the assist. Both teams managed several offensive chances, with the Eagles shooting 17 total shots and landing four of them on target. The Pioneers rallied 14 total shots, while hitting six of them on target.

"I did not get the team ready to play today and that's on me," said Head Coach Gary McIntosh. "We were fortunate to get the tie but good resilience from the players . We will get back to work this week in preparation for our next game."

The Eagles will hit the road once again for a matchup against Simpson University in Redding, California, on Friday, September 13.
