COLLEGE PLACE, Wash. — The Northwest University women's basketball team put together a strong all-around performance to earn a 64–52 Cascade Conference road victory over Walla Walla on Saturday night at Windemuth Court.
Northwest set the tone early, building a 36–22 halftime lead and extending the margin to as many as 26 points in the second half. The Eagles shot 41.0 percent from the field and connected on 11 three-pointers, while holding the Wolves to 32.7 percent shooting for the game.
Ellie Bost led the Eagles with 13 points, knocking down three shots from beyond the arc. Kaleah Medeiros followed with 11 points, and Jersey McGehee added 10 points while contributing six rebounds and three assists. Ellie DeWaard filled the stat sheet with 10 points, eight rebounds, and three assists as Northwest controlled the glass, outrebounding Walla Walla 41–35.
Defensively, the Eagles forced 17 turnovers and limited Walla Walla's scoring opportunities for much of the night. Walla Walla mounted a late push behind a strong fourth quarter, but Northwest maintained its composure down the stretch to close out the road win.
With the victory, the Eagles improved to 6–12 overall and 2–8 in Cascade Conference play. Northwest returns to action as CCC play continues next week.
