LEWISTON, Idaho – Northwest University concluded its season Wednesday night with an 83-52 result against Lewis-Clark State College in the Cascade Collegiate Conference Tournament quarterfinals at the P1FCU Activity Center.
Playing on the road against the No.1 seed, Northwest faced an early deficit but continued to compete throughout the contest. Lewis-Clark State shot 51.7 percent from the field and 44.4 percent from three-point range, building a 41-20 halftime lead.
Northwest responded with improved efficiency in the second half, shooting 46.4 percent over the final 20 minutes. The Eagles finished the game at 40.4 percent from the field and scored 32 second-half points.
Andrew Iyamah led Northwest with 11 points on 5-of-8 shooting and added five rebounds. Lucius Fox contributed eight points and four rebounds, while Christian Watkins and Logan Stempniak each added six points. The Eagles recorded 19 bench points and scored 30 points in the paint.
After halftime, Fox opened the scoring with a layup at the 17:59 mark, and Stempniak followed with a basket at 17:25 as Northwest worked to cut into the margin. Late baskets from Lee Dorsey and Eliott Smith capped the scoring for the Eagles.
Northwest closed the season with a 12-17 overall record and a CCC Tournament appearance. Competing in the conference quarterfinals marks a strong step forward for the program. The Eagles thank their seniors, supporters, and the Northwest community for their continued commitment throughout the season.
