LA GRANDE, Ore. – A strong offensive stretch through the middle quarters was not enough to overcome a late Eastern Oregon run, as Northwest University women's basketball dropped an 86–77 decision on the road Friday afternoon inside Quinn Coliseum.
After a back-and-forth opening quarter, the Eagles settled into rhythm offensively, combining for 52 points across the second and third quarters to stay within striking distance. Northwest matched Eastern Oregon's pace during that span, finding success from beyond the arc and attacking in transition.
Eastern Oregon regained control in the fourth quarter, however, limiting Northwest to seven points over the final 10 minutes while extending its lead down the stretch.
Ellie Bost led all scorers with 20 points, knocking down four three-pointers and adding five rebounds. Jersey McGehee continued her efficient shooting night with 19 points on 6-of-10 shooting, including a near-perfect 5-of-6 effort from three-point range, while also pulling down five rebounds. Kaleah Medeiros provided a steady presence inside, finishing with 10 points and a team-high seven rebounds in 38 minutes of action.
Northwest shot 40 percent from the field and connected on 43.8 percent from three-point range, finishing with 38 total rebounds and 14 points off the bench.
The Eagles move to 7–17 overall and 3–13 in Cascade Collegiate Conference play and will look to bounce back as conference action continues.
