Christian Hakilimali joined the Northwest staff prior to the 2021-22 season as an assistant coach.
Hakilimali enjoyed a standout career at Northwest, earning first-team All-Cascade Collegiate Conference as a senior. He averaged 15 points and 5.8 rebounds and led the team with 155 assists in 2019-20.
He also attended Glendale Community College and led Cortez High School to a Sectional Championship in his prep days in Arizona. He later returned to Cortez as an assistant boys basketball coach for the boys basketball team.
Hakilimali expects to complete his master's of education degree in special education from Grand Canyon University next May.
A native of Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo, Hakilimali attends Church Home. He enjoys advocating for those with learning disabilities, especially individuals with autism specrtum disorder. He also likes to play Call of Duty, Warzone, and "becoming the No. 1 Smash Bros player in the world."
