Prior to being named head coach at NU, Mark was an assistant cross country and track and field coach for one year at Northwest U. Mandi was also a volunteer assistant coach at O'Dea High School in Seattle for one year.

"It has been a great blessing to serve God at this wonderful institution," commented Coach Mandi. "I am excited about where this team is headed because our focus is to glorify Jesus through our athletic endeavors." Mandi continued, "I have amazing coaches to assist me and a young group of men and women that are a joy to coach. We've got a lot of work on our hands, though, as we look to shape the culture of this team, a culture that is characterized by humility, hard work, dedication and fellowship."

Northwest University Athletic Director Gary McIntosh stated, "Mark was an outstanding runner at the University of Washington and has performed at the highest levels of running in the United States. Mark is regarded as one of the top runners in the Seattle area and he continues to run with Club Northwest in the area and still is considered one of the best. Mark is a great fit for us here at NU and his primary goal is to bring glory and honor to Jesus Christ through running. I believe Mark is the coach to take the NU running programs to the next level of competition," McIntosh concluded.

Mark and his wife, Alison, live in Kirkland and are the proud parents of three sons: Nate, Tyler and Zachariah.
