Max Schellmann returns to his alma mater in 2019-20 after a year as an assistant coach at Overlake High School.
With Schellmann as an assistant coach, Overlake High School placed third in Washington’s 1A State Tournament. He also served as head coach in Germany for SpVgg 09 Ansbach U13 in 2014, guiding that team to a league championship.
Schellmann, a native of Ansbach, Germany, earned his bachelor of arts in business administration and marketing from Northwest in 2018 and is back working on his MBA. He completed a sterling playing career at NU earning first-team All-Conference honors his junior and senior seasons as a center-back and defensive midfielder.
He also played at Concordia College in Alabama for a year after club stops at SG Quelle Fuerth and SpVgg 09 Ansbach. He also plated for the Southern California Seahorses of the USL League 2 in 2017 and the Kitsap Pumas of the NPSL in 2018.
Schellmann attends Lakeside Christian Church and in 2017 participated in the Southern California Seahorses Mission Trip to an orphanage in Tecate, Mexico. He enjoys skiing, snowboarding, road trips, volleyball and spikeball.
