Two-time Washington 1A Boys’ Soccer Coach of the Year Scott Lane, who served as a soccer assistant coach for the men's team from 2014-17 and the women's team from 2016-19, returned to the men's coaching staff prior to the 2022 season.

Lane also works as an assistant coach for the Seattle Stars. He also has coached Overlake School junior varsity from 2012-17 and became the varsity coach in 2017. He continues to coach at Overlake in addition to his work with the Seattle Stars.

He has coached highly competitive teams, including Overlake's State Championships in 2017 and 2018 and their third-place State finish in 2019. His plenteous Coach of the Year award list includes Washington State 1A in 2018 and 2019, United Soccer Coaches Washington Private School Boys’ Soccer in 2019 and Emerald City League in 2018 and 2019.
 
Lane was an assistant coach for the women’s teams at NU that reached the NAIA Tournaments in 2016, 2017 and 2018.
 
He was an All-Region goalkeeper in his second season at Edmonds Community College in 2009 and played at NU from 2010-13. Lane graduated from NU with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology in 2014.
 
He and his wife, Shelby, and their son, Goose, live in Mercer Island. Lane enjoys skiing, hiking, golf and paddleboarding.
