Biography
PLAYING EXPERIENCE:
Lina is an offensive soccer player that comes from Bogotá, Colombia, to study Business Administration and play with the Eagles. She has mainly played outside midfielder and forward with a few soccer clubs. She has been pre-selected twice for playing for her hometown team in Colombia, due to studies she hasn’t had the opportunity to give it a try. She describes herself as a fast and creative player, once she connects with a teammate she is able to combine and make some good moves, she is the kind of player who might just surprise you with a crazy move on the field. She is very disciplined and committed to her responsibilities. After her studies at NU, she hopes to have the chance to compete professionally in Colombia when the opportunities present themselves.
WHY NU?
“Six months ago I had no idea I was leaving my home and my family to live in another country to continue my studies and play soccer for a university. Once I got some offers to decide where to go, I chose NU because of the quality I saw in the students, the team and the university. I was leaving everything behind, I needed more than just a good team to play for; I needed a family; I needed friends; I needed love, respect and human warmth. That is exactly what I have found here at Northwest. I feel absolutely blessed to be part of such a talented team filled with amazing teammates and incredible coaches. Thanks to God I have the chance to play for NU, I am living my dream.”
