Oregon Tech Holds Eagles Scoreless

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – Oregon Tech's Jimmie Hernandez scored the game winner just four minutes into the game as Oregon Tech held on to down the NU men's soccer team 1-0 Friday evening at Trevor Derrah Field at Steen Sports Park.

Oregon Tech (3-2, 4-5 CCC) gave up 22 Eagle shot to their 9, but NU was held scoreless by the Owls' defense and their goalkeeper, Loren Jessen who finished with 8 saves for the shutout. NU had 9 corner kicks to Tech's 3 but came up scoreless on set pieces.

Hernandez got the game winner off a cross from teammate Jackson Wold with 3:55 showing on the clock. It was a physical game in which 6 yellow cards and 1 red card was handed out. OIT played one man down for the final 18 minutes as Hernandez received a red card. A total of 27 fouls were called in the game.

Said Gary McIntosh, NU head coach after the game, "We never got our game going and just did not create good enough scoring chances."

Next up for the Eagles will be Evergreen in Olympia on October 12 at 1 p.m.
