Northwest Fall in Four to Beacons

Box Score EUGENE, Ore. - The NU Eagles took the first set against Northwest Christian, but then lost three straight to fall to the Beacons, 3-1 (25-22, 19-25, 14-25, 18-25) for their 19th loss of the season dropping them to 3-13 in conference play.

Freshman Dakota Adams led the Eagles with 9 kills and 13 digs while senior Sarah Stoker had 7 kills for the Eagles. Christina Gleb had a team high 25 assists and Leia Roy had 21 digs to lead Northwest. NU only hit .089 for the match.

Northwest Christian (17-8, 10-6) was led by Maren Mansfield's 13 kills and 10 assists for her double-double and Chandler Gabrio added 13 kills. Cori Wallace had a match high 44 assists and teammate Dana McGowan had 19 digs to lead the Beacons.

"We only had 8 players available at the end of the match today and we had to place several players into new roles for the first time this year," commented Steven Bain, Eagle head coach. "The players responded the right way and while there is no such thing as a good loss I was happy with how hard we played and our resilience when faced with adversity."

The Eagles will wrap up their season next week with back-to-back matches at Evergreen. Nov. 7 will be the make-up match from Sept. 20 and Fri., Nov. 8 will be the scheduled home match for the Geoducks. Both begin at 7 p.m.
