Box Score OLYMPIA, Wash. – Evergreen continued their winning ways over the NU Eagles as they earned a 3-0 sweep (25-20, 27-25, 25-23) to complete the regular season in the Cascade Conference.
The Geoducks took command of the first set early and led the entire way. After building a 24-17 lead, Evergreen committed three straight errors to give the Eagles a little life and make it 24-20, before Cassidy Watkins would win the set for ESC with her kill.
In set two and after taking an 18-12 lead, Northwest would battle back to outscore the Geoducks 8-4 to make it 22-20 capped off by a kill by Sarah Stoker and two straight by
Olivia VanDlac. NU would tie the set at 23-all on a kill by
Hannah Hanson and an ESC attack error and then take a 24-23 lead on another Hanson kill. Evergreen would fight back to tie and re-take the lead, 25-24 on two Eagle miscues, but another ESC error would knot the score at 25. Cassidy Watkins would help win the set with her kill aided by an NU attack error to end the tight set.
The third and final set would be another close one as the two teams would be tied 20-20 late in the set after a Sarah Stoker kill. An ESC error would give NU a brief 21-20 lead. With the scored tied once again (22-22) Cassidy Watkins would put the Geoducks ahead for good with her 12
th kill of the match and Victoria Love would end the set and the match with her kill.
Freshman
Hannah Hanson led NU (7-21, 3-15) with 14 kills. Sarah Stoker, playing in her final match as an Eagle, had 11 kills and teammate
Olivia VanDlac scored a double-double with 10 kills and 12 digs.
Christina Gleb had another fine night with 38 assists and
Leia Roy led the Eagles once again in digs with 17.
Evergreen (8-15, 7-11) was led by Victoria Love and Cassidy Watkins as each finished with 12 kills. Shelby Clark added 11 kills while Kelsey Delagrange had 23 assists for the Geoducks.
