Eagles Win Second Straight CCC Game

NU's Do-Hee Kim scored the first goal for the Eagles in the win Saturday.
Box Score CALDWELL, Ida. - Northwest University, powered by goals by Do-hee Kim and Josh Guerrero, defeated the College of Idaho 2-1 this morning in a Cascade Conference game. The win puts Northwest U. atop the CCC standings with a 2-0 record.
 
Kim (Seoul, South Korea) put Northwest on the scoreboard with his goal in the 10th minute as the Eagles would take a 1-0 lead into halftime. Josh Guerrero (Orlando, Fla.) scored what proved to be the game winner 6 minutes into the second half as he took Todd Siedenburg's (Tukwila, Wash.) pass and put it past the C of I goalkeeper for the score and the 2-0 lead.
 
The College of Idaho got their lone goal with 2:59 remaining in the game as Joseph Bolin put one past NU goalkeeper Joe Galbraith (Kalispell, Mont.).
 
Northwest U. (4-2-0, 2-0-0 CCC) outshot C of I (1-5-0, 1-1-0 CCC) 14-10 in a physical game which saw a total of 6 yellow cards and a red card issued among the 26 fouls called. C of I was forced to play with 10 on the field the final 17 minutes of the game. Goalkeeper Joe Galbraith earned the win in goal for NU gathering in 2 saves.
 
Said Gary McIntosh, Eagle head coach, "It's always good to win on the road especially at C of I as this is a tough place to play. The team played well right from the beginning and we did what we wanted to do with the ball. The entire team played with composure. It is a good win for us."
