Eagles Score Often in Shutout of Lions

Box Score KIRKLAND, Wash. – Goals came often and there were many as Northwest University shut out Multnomah University, 12-0, this afternoon in a non-conference game under sunny skies.
 
Odason Pelogi opened up the scoring with his game winner just 2:47 into the game as he took Todd Siedenburg's corner kick and put it into the back side of the net from 10 yards out. Siedenburg got into the scoring column in the 15th minute as he scored from the middle right from Taylor Young's pass. Pelogi scored his second goal of the half at the 25:33 mark as he curved his 12 yard shot into the upper right side of the goal. Taylor Young and Chris Iacolucci finished off the first half scoring with goals for the Eagle pushing the score to 5-0 at the break.
 
The scoring for Northwest U (2-0) continued in the second half as Kyle Zimmerman, Brendon Wheeler, Hunter Madich, Taylor Turner, and Jacob Weaver all scored goals for the Eagles. Kieren Raney scored two back-to-back goals in the 52nd and 60th minute of the second half. Raney also had an assist while teammate Josimar Evangelista added an assist on  Pelogi's second goal. Taylor Young, Aaron Becerril and Branson Corwin each had two assists for the game.
 
J.D. Leonard grabbed 10 saves for the Lions (0-4-0) in goal while Dominick Downer had the lone save for Northwest U in the second half. Northwest totaled 55 shots for the game and had 20 corner kicks for the day. 24 different players saw action for NU
 
NU will remain at home next week when they host Walla Walla University for two games on Sept. 10 and 11. Both games are at 4 p.m.
