Caroll's Strong Second Half Downs Eagles

No. 24, Bailey Travis, scored NU's goal today
Box Score HELENA, Mont. - League leading Carroll College broke a 1-1 halftime tie with three second half goals to defeat the Eagles 4-1 this afternoon in CCC play.

With the loss, the Eagles fall to 4-8-2 overall and 3-3-1 in league play.
 
Bailey Travis got NU off to a good start early in the game with her goal coming just 3:29 into the contest. Her score came off a free kick and her ball got past the Saints' goalkeeper.

Carroll recovered quickly and Cassidy Hammons tied the game at the 4:03 mark off an assist from teammate Lexi Pyette. Neither team would be able to score the remainder of the half as NU would have four shots and the Saints six.

The second half would be a different story as Carroll would score three times starting with Michaela Kueffler unassisted goal at the 59:10 mark and Kayla Bayer would head in another score in the 79th minute. Kueffler would score her second goal of the game unassisted at 88:00 to clinch the victory for CC.

Carroll would finish with 21 shots, 9 on goal with NU's Lauren Patefield grabbing 5 saves for the game in goal for the Eagles. Jamie Carter would earn the win playing all but the first 12 minutes and finishing with two saves.

Said NU Coach, Val Seid, "It was a very disappointing loss for the ladies today. I really thought they came out with the right attitude and energy. Carroll made some very good adjustments in the second half that we hadn't seen before and caught us off guard. In the end, they outplayed us in the second half. We now have our backs against the wall and need to regroup and find out next win."

NU will be at home next weekend hosting Corban on Friday and Northwest Christian on Saturday.
