Whitney Weaver scored her golden goal in the 97th minute, to lift Northwest U to a 1-0, overtime victory over Northwest Christian in the final regular season game for five Eagle seniors.After the two teams would miss scoring opportunities in regulation, it would be Weaver placing her shot just over the outstretched hands of the NCU goalkeeper for the game winner. Her shot came from the right sid...e as she lifted her shot into the upper left corner of the net for the hard fought victory.

Play was physical with 23 fouls and five yellow cards issued as the teams, playing on tough field conditions, battled it out.
Northwest Christian pressed hard in the second half and had several opportunities miss the mark. Melyssa Weber had two shots on goal, one in the 82nd and one in the 88th minute, both stopped by NU's
Ashlyn Juul.
The Eagles
Kortney Hudak's shot at 75:55 would be saved by NCU goalkeeper Kristin Fulbright and her shot in the 78th minute would careen off the post.
Northwest U (6-9-2, 5-4-1 CCC) had 18 shots to 17 by NCU, but NCU held an 8-7 edge on corner kicks.
"Another tough hard game for the ladied," commented Val Seid, NU head coach. "NCU was a tough physical team that kept us on our toes all game long. Proud of our seniors today and all that they have done for our program these last 4 years. It's tough to see them leave but this win I hope will give them something to remember. Our freshman and bench players came up big time today as we rested all of our starters to keep them healthy for the playoffs. Now on to the post season."
