Eagles Fall to EOU in CCC Quarterfinal

Box Score SPRINGFIELD, Ore. – Eastern Oregon ended the NU's Eagles season this afternoon with a 3-0 victory in the quarterfinals of the Cascade Conference Women's Soccer Championships at the Willamalane Sports Complex.

EOU score one goal in the first half and two in the second to clinch the win for the No. 3 seed over the No. 6 seed, Northwest U.

Megan Dimler put EOU ahead 1-0 with her unassisted goal in the 21st minute as she dribbled through the Eagle defense to put the Mountaineers ahead 1-0. Neither team would score the remainder of the half in spite of 13 shots combined.

Scoring would be nonexistent for most of the second half until the 83:32 mark when Alezandria Cuaresma would benefit from a double assist from teammates Zoe Anderson and Megan Dimmler and score to give EOU a 2-0 lead.

Cuaresma score her second goal and the clincher in the 85th minute as she gathered herself and score off a rebound from an NU block.

EOU had 15 shots in the game with six on goal while the Eagles had 10 shots, two on goal as the EOU defense held the Eagles scoreless. Lauren Patefield took the loss for Northwest U (7-10-2) making three saves in goal while Jessica Parker earned the shutout in goal for the Mountaineers making two saves. Travis Bailey led NU with four shots, one shot on goal.
